“ Transitional Spaces”
April 10th -June 10th

Maintaining stability in the midst of an ever-changing world is an intrinsic survival skill that humans have always struggled to maintain.
My recent paintings create safe, intimate interiors that exist within the unpredictable unknown of the outside world. Using the imagery of identical chairs rather than specific humans allows for a detached, universal reflection on the simultaneous push and pull of navigating both spaces.
In the past two years my personal world has been shaken by two uncontrollable events. The sudden death of my brother was followed by a near-fatal collision from which I have spent the last year recovering. As I continue to traverse the uncharted future, my focus remains not on the undefined view of the outside world but on the hopeful glow that spills into my private space.
